Juticalpa's new well, created with the assistance of Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary, Rotary Club of Chico Sunrise and Rotary Club of Roatan, is now functioning perfectly. The pump has been installed and the pump house has been completed.

This is a great chance to meet and get to know Roatarians from other Rotary Clubs as well as show we are People of action.

Rogelio Castillo Castro, our WASH Trainer and general manager for this project, has started to meet with the residents of Juticalpa to teach them how to collect and use the water we are providing properly and how to store it safely. He will supervising the overall project as well as offering WASH education. He will also be advising on what we can do as volunteers at the given time.

There are many ways you can help finish our project.  Most of the digging of trenches will have been completed by the families in Juticalpa as part of their agreement with the Juticalpa Water Board. This is also required by Rotary International.

But here are some suggestions of how you can help:

* Installing filters and water meters into families homes.

* Connecting pipeline to individual homes in Juticalpa

* Painting and restoring the water tank

* Teaching families about safe use and storage of water. For this , you will need to be a Spanish-speaker.

Now it's time for volunteers to sign up between January 15th, 2023 and February 15th (after the November/December rains have passed) in order to finish our project by installing water pipelines to all of the homes, to paint and restore the water tank, and to help teach both adults and children living in Juticalpa the right way to use the water they now have.
