Grade 11 & 12 Debate Competition May 5th at Taj Park Convention Center, Surrey | ||
| Participation: All current Grade 11 and 12 students in Canada and USA are invited to participate. This event will help improve your public speaking, leadership and critical thinking skills apart from showcasing your talent before the community and help prepare for post-secondary studies. | ||
| Selection Process: All students will need to register online on the event website www.thedebater.ca. Registration process will also include a short essay to be submitted by each participant. All registered and pre-screened applicants will be invited to attend in person workshops in Surrey, BC in the month of April. The exact dates and locations of the workshops will be announced soon. At the end of the workshops, 10 finalists will be selected who will participate in the final public program on May 5th. At least 70% of finalists will be selected from public schools. | ||
Prizes: Total scholarship money of $15000 will be distributed to the winners with top prize money of $3500. Judges: The event will be judged by leading personalities from academia and public life. | ||
