Saco Community Bike Rodeo

As a follow up to our prior discussion at the Rotary meeting in early December, the Saco Community Bike Rodeo will be held on May 21st from 9am – 1pm at the Saco Public Works facility on North Street.  We are seeking volunteers to assist with the cooking/serving of food (hot dogs, chips, and drinks) as well as folks to monitor the children through the bike course, and assist in the minor "tune up" of bikes beginning at 8:45am.  We are seeking help for all areas for the duration of the event, so any volunteers you could provide would be greatly appreciated. 

The Bike Rodeo is open to the students of Young School (grades K-2), Fairfield School (grade K-2) and Burns School (grades 3-5) and their families.  The three schools combined have a student count of approximately 1,200, so we anticipate we will have a great turnout.  We also have 8-10 committed vendors for health/wellness-related businesses and organizations, as well as "stuff the bus" for the local food pantry, and 4-6 bikes to raffle off.  We have also partnered with Saco Public Works, Saco Parks and Recreation, and the Saco Police Department.  We are very excited about this event, and look forward to the Saco Bay Rotary Club's involvement.
