President Ken promptly started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and then led the group in The Star Spangled Banner. It actually didn’t sound too bad! Another one of our newer Rotarians, Matt Simmons, took a stab at leading the 4 Way Test and passed with flying colors. Jim Audiffred provided the invocation.
President-Elect Bill Kany introduced visiting Rotarians and Guests. We were pleased to welcome the following: Dennis Robillard and Sam Anagnostis from the Saco Bay Rotary club, Mike Tremblay (guest of Paul Deschambault & Ray Demers), Jen Grenada & Lee Chick (guests of Karen Chasse).
Vice President (for a few more days) and guest SAA was MIA so President Ken improvised. He polled the group looking for Happy Dollars. There were a few happy campers in the bunch: PP Karen was happy to be flying to Alaska for two weeks; Matt Simmons chose the Jim Audiffred way and gave $10 for celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss; President Ken was happy that his son Mitchell got his driver’s license, his daughter Madeline was graduating from 8th grade and he only had a couple weeks left to his term; Fausto was happy for his Mom’s sister getting out of Cuba, Don Lauzier was happy to see his daughter’s boss in today’s attendance; Bill Kany Sr. (aka, Papa Kany, aka Senior Bill, aka Bill the Dad) was happy to make it to the meeting & looking forward to many more; Jacquie Perrault was happy for her granddaughter getting her Masters degree in Nursing Education from St. Joe’s College. Joe Moreshead gave a complaint dollar for the kids who were working on the Crutches 4 Africa project in the dark – he does have lights.
