GRANT REQUEST/FUNDING
- Of all the clubs in our district, only 9 did not apply for the grant
- There was simply not enough money for everyone
- We could potentially use the same application to request a grant from another foundation
- Don suggested having a conversation with the Sam Cohen foundation regarding a small grant
- The Tabitha King foundation may be another source of funding
- Larger sources of funding are available outside of Maine - check with seasonal contacts as they may wish to contribute
- There is approximately $5,000 remaining in subcommittee funding
HAND SANITIZER
- We are moving forward with hand sanitizer for main street small businesses
- Conrad will order at least 24 bottles to be distributed to Chamber of Commerce contacts
- CJ to reach out to Alicia regarding sticker design (and someone will check with Brenda regarding pricing)
- Messaging should be "Courtesy of the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club" or similar
- Don is working on a membership card so we can recruit new members while we distribute the sanitizer
- All Rotary Club members are encouraged to assist with delivery
UPDATES FROM GRANTEES
- OOB has given out everything that was donated to them
- They do not have any particularly urgent needs at the moment but more donations would be welcome
- Biddeford has distributed about half of what we donated to them
- The police department finds the gift cards useful when responding to desperate situations
- The check for Vet 2 Vet should arrive in the near future
- The seniors meal program in Saco has ended for the summer
