Ranked choice voting on the November ballot

Question 5 on this November's statewide ballot will ask voters whether to replace the current voting system with ranked choice voting for federal and state primary and general elections beginning in 2018.

Finn Melanson, a representative from the Maine League of Women Voters, will make a presentation explaining how ranked choice voting works, how voters use the ballots, how it compares to our current system, where it is currently used across the state, country and world, and how voters have responded to its implementation.
