Club Meeting February 19, 2019
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present:  Dale Baker, Joe Blake, Frank DiGennaro, Gail Handley, Dick Kisiel, Jon Kozlowski, Luis Lee, Don Miner, Jack Muska, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Scott Seabury, and Nancy Viggiano.  (13/32….41%).
 
Guests:  Dick welcomed several guests including Paul Muska (prospective member), Jared Lobo (student of the month), Jason and Gundi Lobo, and Noreen Harnett (SHS teacher).
 
Announcements:
Dick made several announcements including amendments to our constitution and by-laws as discussed on January 8 will be voted on at our next meeting; the Scholar-Sip Wine tasting planning underway; and members will receive minutes of the Board meeting within the next week and will be asked to vote on several issues described in the minutes of the meeting.
 
PROGRAM:  Rotary Student of the Month.
Noreen Harnett presented Jared Lobo for the  Rotary’s Student of the Month award. She described him as a focused, polite, scholar-athlete.  He is the captain of the basketball team, active in many service activities in the school and community, and member of the National Honor Society.  Jared said that he particularly enjoys his role as a teacher assistant and sharing his experience and knowledge with others whether in academic work or helping younger students enjoy and learn the game of basketball. He is passionate in helping his mother with work on her Relay for Life team, raising funds for cancer research.
He plans to enroll in college to major in engineering or a business related program.
 
Dick present Jared with a certificate honoring his recognition as the Student of the Month and a small gift from the club.
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Scott Seabury, with sides won by Jay Presser and Joe Blake.
 
Queen of Hearts:  Scott Seabury had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts to win the $249.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: None
 
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
