Guests: Pam Lupoli, Area Governor
Announcements:
District has accepted the final report for the Playscape Project and will be providing the $1800 reimbursement to Suffield Rotary following the closing date of May 1. Eileen Rau has asked we check the PO Box for the check as some clubs are not checking their PO box on a regular basis.
Project Discussions:
Golf Tournament: Jon Kozloski has asked Oak Ridge if an August tournament will be possible. If so, we will be hustling to get all together in June & July!
Wine Tasting & Paul Harris: We may need to find a new location for these events as we look towards rescheduling..
Restaurant funding for First Responders: Five locations agreed to participate in the Rotary-funded First Responder Appreciation Project: Zanto’s, Francesco’s, Nutrition Shack and Suffield Pizza will run a tally at the cash register and Highland Park offered gift certificates as a tally system would not be successful at their location. Each locale was given $250 for the initial run of the project and will advise us when they run out of funds. Gift bags with certificates, menus and coupons were distributed to the Fire Chief, Police Chief and SVAA.
Tami Z is currently working with Masks for Heroes CT and is delivering masks to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, first responders and frontline workers through much of North Central CT. She will let us know if she needs any assistance.
Gail Handley is recuperating at Suffield House, Room 211. Gail so appreciated all the cards sent to Hartford Hospital, and she currently has good days and bad ones. Another card would be most welcome; make it a funny one!!!
PROGRAM: Scott “Alex Trebek” Seabury had a great game of Jeopardy which we all enjoyed!!
Next Zoom meeting: Tuesday, May 5 @ 7 pm.
It was wonderful ‘seeing’ everyone that was able to log in; this confinement has curtailed much of our programming and project plans, but not our wonderful spirit of community support and respect. Gratitude is the doorway to love.
