Treasurer’s Report:
Jack provided the monthly financial report, with the following balance as of June 30, 2019:
Operations: $1710
The Board approved unanimously a motion by Jack, seconded by Dick, to accept the treasurer’s report.
Old Business:
- Golf Tournament – Approx $33860 Revenue in – 109 players – Approx $16100 expenses; Approx $17,500 profit. 5 kids volunteered who need letters noting volunteer hours.
- Happy Dollars – 50% of money collected at the registration table for blue ticket ($1) should go to winners and 50% to operations. If we have 20 people registered for dinners, $10 (50% of the $1 blue ticket) should go to the blue ticket winner. Frank’s collection is split between the two side winners. The budget was $300 short this year for guest meal payment and that 50% is needed to offset guest fees.
- Dues: Ken spoke with the Mason’s who wish to pay District Dues only.
- Opioid brochures should be available for Suffield on the Green; we owe Dan Kehoe an additional $100 for the last minute revisions requested.
- SOTG booth on middle green – pewter ornaments will be sold. Initially they were sold for $10 ea; we’ll sell them for $5 in hopes of moving them along!
New Business:
- Chicken BBQ – Ken has structured a volunteer sign in for building the pits, moving the items from the barn, setting up the green, cooking both Sat & Sun in the booth and Sun on the pits. He is asking we promote ticket sales! Natalie will post on Suffield Neighbors and Suffield Forum.
- Food Packaging project. Pam Lupoli is hosting a project for her clubs which is an assembly line food packaging effort of “backpack food” for needy kids. She is asking for a $500 pledge from Suffield for the purchase of the food items. Dick moved we donate the $500 and the motion was seconded by Jon. Jack Muska will send the $500 to Pam at the Windsor Rotary. Oct 5, CREC School/Windsor 9-Noon will be the assembly and we need about 5 volunteers to help with packaging.
- Budget—Membership Dues. Due to the rising cost of food and tipping, a rise in dues is warranted. The Budget committee would like to raise dues to $180, a vote is not required on this item.
- 350th celebration – Ken will research the details of a silver coin to sell as a fundraiser. Gayle will look into the quilts.
- Interact – Kate will be asked to join us monthly so we might become more closely involved with the interact club. We will also find a date to plan a social with the kids & their parents. Oct will be targeted.
- Lobster/Steak night – Dick will be chairing.
- The membership voted to obtain an Inflatable Rotary balloon but as the logo has changed this may be available later this year.
