Club Meeting January 22, 2019
 
Opening and Welcome:  President Dick Kisiel opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Scott Seabury provided the invocation and led the club singing of “God Bless America”.
 
Members Present:  Dale Baker, Joe Blake, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Frank DiGennaro, Greg Heineman, Jackie Hemond, Heidi Huhn Partain, Richard Kisiel, Jack Muska, Roger Pratt, Jay Presser, Don Rawling, Scott Seabury, Gordon Stagg, Cat Thomas and Tami Zawistowski.  (16/31….52%).
 
Guests: Rick Butera (friend of Heidi Huhn Partain).
 
Announcements: 
Dick welcomed Rick to the meeting.
 
The Second Annual Yardgoats social is on the horizon for July.  Greg Heineman agreed to chair this project; Roger volunteered to assist.  More details to come.
 
Dick will host a meeting of volunteers to discuss Membership initiatives this Thursday at 6:30 and he will share the results of this discussion. 
 
Nancy has asked the members of the Wine Tasting Committee to attend a meeting to begin at 5 pm, prior to the weekly meeting next week.  The date of this event has been noted as May 17 at Suffield By The River.
 
Dick and Joe Blake will attend the Opioid Crisis meeting next Monday, and will continue to monitor what Rotary might do to assist with Suffield’s needs.
 
Zak Grant – Dick believes we may be eligible for an grant entry to assist with costs to upgrade the trail at Sunrise Park.  We would need details from Park and Rec to complete an entry for a grant; the Zak grant entry deadline is Feb 8.   
 
Scott is asking for Program suggestions; what speakers would you like to invite and what topics would be of interest to pursue?
 
Blue Ticket Winners: Blue ticket winner was Jackie Hemond with side winners Don and Roger.
Queen of Hearts:  Jackie Hemond also had the winning ticket and did not pull the Queen of Hearts.  Total winning pot now stands at $197.
 
Birthdays and Anniversaries: None celebrated this evening.
Adjournment: Scott closed the meeting with a group singing of “My Country Tis of Thee”.
