Club Meeting May 30, 2017
Opening and Welcome: President Jackie Guzie opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test. Scott Seabury gave the invocation and led the singing of “God Bless America”.
Members Present: Dale Baker, Gayle Demko, Jed Dery, Greg DeSantis, Frank DiGennaro, Jackie Guzie, Gail Handley, Greg Heineman, Heidi Huhn Partain, Richard Kisiel, Jon Kozloski, Luis Lee, Jack Muska, Paul Pace, Jay Presser, Charles Roumas, Scott Seabury, Thomas Sullivan and Nancy Viggiano. (19/35…54.2%).
Guests: None.
Announcements/Program: In lieu of a formal program, there were several announcements:
- Jackie Guzie announced the board meeting is postponed until June 13 for those wishing a participation slot.
- Past President and Rotary Foundation Chair Jay Presser reminded members we are in the second of three weeks of our annual member solicitation for the Rotary International Foundation.
-Membership Chairman Luis Lee stated he was pleased to see our new member induction on the website, and also strongly suggested that each new inductee get to speak and tell the group about themselves. It is also all our responsibility to find new potential members that meet the principles of Rotary’s Four Way Test.
-Co-Chairs Gayle Demko and Jed Dery of our annual Packard Golf Tourney Committee will hold their next meeting June 6th at 5 pm. The tournament is August 11, 2017.
Blue Ticket Winners: Jackie Guzie had the winning blue ticket, with sides won by Dale Baker and Frank DiGennaro.
Queen of Hearts: Jay Presser had the winning red ticket, but did not select the Queen of Hearts; next week’s pot is $293+.
Birthdays and Anniversaries: There were a plethora of celebrations this week. Birthday wishes for members Scott Seabury and Jack Muska were presented in a syncopated sing around for double the fun. Wedding anniversaries were recognized for Tom and Jane Sullivan, and in absentia- Tami & Ed Zawistowski, Karen & Clark Mason, and Don Rawling & Carla Jacobs. Finally, Jackie Guzie recognized Ken Pascoe’s 24th year in Rotary. Great to have so many happy occasions.
Adjournment: Jackie Guzie adjourned the meeting with Scott Seabury leading the members in “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” as the closing song.
Next Week: There is no formal program/speaker set as of yet for the regular Tuesday meeting on the 6th. June 13th will be the Rotary Student of the Month recognition.
