Club Meeting May 3, 2016

 

Jackie Guzie opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.  Luis Lee gave the invocation and club members sang “God Bless America.”

Guests:  Phil Sullivan (Northampton Rotary Club), Rick Lawrence (Manchester Rotary Club), and Ellen Lawrence

 

Program:  Rick Lawrence shared with us his trip to two Guatemalan villages and the completion of two water projects.  Our club was one of many from the District that contributed funds to support the construction of the water systems.  Rick expressed his hope that our club would continue to support the project next year that will include the installation for clean water systems in four Guatemalan villages.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Frank DiGennaro celebrated his birthday on May 4, but left the meeting early probably to avoid our melodious tribute to his special day.

 

Blue Ticket Winners:  Blair Child had the winning blue ticket, with sides won by Jack Muska and Ken Pascoe.

 

Queen of Hearts: Don Miner also had the winning ticket but did not select the queen.  Next week’s drawing $278+

 

Adjournment:  Jackie adjourned the meeting with the singing of “America.”
