Announcements/Program: In lieu of a formal program, there were several announcements:

- Jackie Guzie informed the members the next Rotary Board meeting is to be held on Tuesday March 14, 2017. She also reiterated to membership that all those interested in a Rotary Officer position or an At-Large board seat for the coming year should express their interest ASAP to Dick Kisiel.

-Dick Kisiel notified members that, importantly, the club strategy and goal setting session for next fiscal year, referenced last week during the Water Project spending discussion, has been formally scheduled as our regular meeting program on March 28, 2017. Members are highly encouraged to attend and participate.

- Ken Pascoe wished to convey to members he was able to contact Karen and Clark Mason and they will be returning as active members in the near future following the loss of her dad.

-Ken also reminded the membership it is time to form the annual Paul Harris Award Selection Committee. Committee members should preferably be past winners to facilitate discussion. He defined this high service award and noted it is named after a founder of Rotary. Ideally the club looks to recognize one member of the club, and also a non-member Suffield resident or community business person worthy of the honor.

-Nancy Viggiano reminded members again that the Zero Turn Lawn Mower grand prize to be raffled off in April will be on display the weekend of March 25-26 at two business Showcases. Saturday the 25th, it will be displayed at Jim Viggiano’s booth at the Suffield Chamber of Commerce Business showcase at 1060 Sheldon Street from 9am-1pm. Sunday March 26th, it will be displayed at his booth at the Enfield NCCC Business Showcase in East Windsor.

Blue Ticket Winners: Gayle Demko had the winning blue ticket, with sides won by Charles Roumas and Dale Baker.

Queen of Hearts: Don Miner had the winning red ticket, but did not select the Queen of Hearts; next week’s pot is $65+.

Birthdays and Anniversaries: Despite his protests that his birthday was the prior Wednesday-March 1st, Ken Pascoe was honored to be the recipient of the unique Rotary rendition of “the Happy Birthday Song”.

Adjournment: Jackie Guzie adjourned the meeting with Scott Seabury leading the members in “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” as the closing song.
