Program: President Jackie Guzie introduced tonight’s speaker, Madison D’Ostuni, the President of Interact, the SHS youth Rotary Service Club.
Madison had two purposes to convey, the first to provide an extensive and impressive array of service events Interact’s 43 members accomplished this year. The second was to thank the club for its continued support in communication and leadership skill development, with the hopes of an additional request for an upcoming speaker at SHS from the club and perhaps some Tee shirts.
Below is a partial list of the many current year service events Interact participated in:
-Set up and take down activities at the Packard Golf Tourney
-Hosted successful breakfast for Best Buddies Program
-Assisted Suffield Parks&Rec with the annual Road Race
-Heavy involvement in “Source to Sea” program
-Participated in annual Salvation Army Drive as bell ringers at donation stands
-Substituted for SHS Draft Club on many of their programs/ activities
-Hosted November dinner for Rotarians and sold sneakers to benefit the National Diabetes Foundation.
Our Rotary Club members were very impressed with Interact, Madison and their work. Our members inquired about Interact’s succession planning, recruitment activities, and how we can better support them. Lastly, our audience expressed their deep appreciation for Madison’s leadership and Interact’s success.
