The Rotary Club of Amherst is working hard to prepare for the Ninth Annual Amherst Rotary Auction, a multimedia event that has as it's finale a televised community benefit auction which will be broadcast on Amherst Media (“ACTV”) Channel 12 on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6 pm to 9pm and Saturday, November 12, 2016 from noon to 9pm.

Offering the public a creative selection of donated auction items, ranging from $25.00 local restaurant gift certificates to African Safaris, the auction is a fun community event that gives everyone an opportunity to get involved in supporting worthy causes, whether as donors, purchasers, viewers or bidders. The auction is held every autumn and all net proceeds fund non-profits serving the community, college scholarships for local graduating high school seniors, and international projects that support Rotary’s international study and global humanitarian programs.
You can visit online starting on October 22, 2016 to view and bid online for auction items.  Next, look for an insert in the Amherst Bulletin on November 4, 2016 with a listing of items lists and times for the Auction lots.  Then, watch online on Amherst Media Channel 12, on Novemer 11 and 12 and call in live to bid on items!

Truly a community event, Amherst Rotarians approach local businesses and individuals each year to seek both item donors for the auction, and sponsors to help defray the event’s costs. Amherst Rotary’s past President Pete Scoon said “Businesses donating to fundraiser events often don’t get enough recognition.  We’re really happy that with the large TV audience that we have built for this event, we are able to give sponsors and donors the high level of exposure and recognition that they deserve.”

So tune in at Amherst Media(“ACTV”) Channel 12 on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6 pm to 9pm and Saturday, November 12, 2016 from noon to 9pm.  Call 256-0111 to start your holiday shopping early, get some great bargains and have some fun while you are helping your local community.
