Planes Fly, Ducks Fall
The ducks were flying, or dropping depending on your perspective, on a beautiful Fall Saturday out at the Fort Morgan airport as Rotarians and hopeful duck sponsors gathered to see the annual dropping of the ducks. 
Against a background of busy construction equipment working on the new airport runway, Kyle Scott of Scott Aviation organized this year’s pilots and bombardiers and split the ducks up between the four planes taking part. The Rotary banner was laid out next to the parking apron and marked off with cones and barrels for the pilots to sight their approach. A brisk wind required an element of skill from the pilots to give their bombardiers a fighting chance to drop on their target. This year’s pilots and bombardiers were:

In the end, 5 ducks dropped and bounced their way closest to the center of the target for their sponsors to split a total of $724.68 in prize money.

The money raised from this activity is used by the Fort Morgan Rotary Club to sponsor local community youth and organizations, including outstanding students selected by the Middle and High School school faculty each month for recognition as the Rotary Wheel and Junior Wheel of the Month and the annual youth leadership awards, which send youth to a life-changing leadership camp each summer. The Fort Morgan Rotary Club also awards several $1,000 scholarships each year to Fort Morgan High School Seniors choosing to continue their education.
