Karl Kurtz is retired from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) where he worked from its founding in 1975until 2014. Karl has written, consulted and lectured widely on American state legislatures, elections and public opinion.  He has provided advice and assistance in the development of democratic institutions to legislators and legislative staff throughout the world.  Karl taught political science at the Universityof Georgia and worked on the staff of the United States Congress. Karl holds a PhD. From the Washington University (St. Louis). 

 Karl is currently the President of the Boulder Rotary Club for Rotary year, 2023-24.
