I met with our friend, Dan White this past Friday afternoon, and it was an interesting meeting!   Dan grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY, which was 1 1/2 hours north of Manhattan for you geography buffs....the family was comprised of Mom and Dad, an older sister, and a younger brother.  Growing up, Dan would go to see the Yankees play baseball with his Dad, even though Dan's father was not a sports guy...Dad worked for IBM which was headquartered there...When Dan was a young boy, they relocated to Burlington, Vermont, as Dad's job took the family there...the kids learned to ski, and it was a pretty happy childhood.   During high school years, Dan played soccer, lacrosse and basketball....lacrosse being his favorite.  In his sophomore year in high school, he met Sara, whom he would eventually marry....Dan and Sara went to the prom in high school....the classic high school sweetheart story that we all love.

Both Dan and Sara decided to attend to Penn State, Main campus, graduating in 2005.  Once graduated Dan and Sara lived apart for one year...Sara stayed in State College and Dan moved to beautiful Conshohocken to work for Ameriprise...One night in 2006, Dan surprised Sara at their favorite restaurant up in State College, Mario and Luigi's, and proposed!   They got married, and celebrated with an intimate 150-guest affair in Vermont....Dan and Sara then followed it up with a honeymoon in Saint Lucia!

In 2011, Dan and Sara welcomed their first child, Annabelle, then came Charlotte in 2013 and then Donovan in 2019....which makes a happy family of five!  Life today is:  Dan is the morning shift....gets breakfast ready, which is his cooking specialty, kids off to school and daycare, and Sara is the afternoon/evening shift!  Sara works from home as a data analyst and has a little bit more flexibility in her schedule.  Whether it's sporting events that the girls are in, etc, Sara takes the reins....Dan told me that Annabelle had a soccer tournament the day that Sara came home from delivery of Charlotte...Sara and Charlotte attended the tournament!   I think I need to get Sara a cape!!!!!

When I asked where Dan would like to travel to, he responded, "Italy and New Zealand"....when I asked Dan what he felt was his best traits, his reply was, "I am normally calm.  I feel that I have an empathetic nature.   In the field that I am in, I am a good listener"......all of which, I agree with.....I told Dan that I had a magic wand, and asked him what wish he would want....his reply was "I wish for more time with my children at this age...I would like to have a better life/work balance"...I think that is a solid wish we all have!

Lastly, a very important topic is food!!!   I asked Dan what was his favorite food....a resounding, "PIZZA".....Nino's Grandma's Pizza is about the best....Oori in South Coventry is one of the favorites, along with the Blue Elephant.....

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Dan and am thankful for these opportunities to get to know our members better...Thank you, Dan.
