District 5450 Awards are nominees are due by March 1st.  Let President Nancy know if you would like to nominate a SH Rotarian for a District Award.  Awards are listed on the District website.

 

Our Board approved two changes to the Bylaws to be brought before the membership.  These changes have to do with attendance and meetings.  Look for an email explaining the changes and a short Club Assembly in our future to vote on these changes.  PPs Dave Maxwell, Denny Passantino, and Paul Urtz have worked hard to bring our Bylaws up to speed as they have not been updated since 2007.

 

Sarge PP Paul Urtz got into the act early.  He introduced Valentine's Day Birthday Boy PEN Hugh Radke as, "Our resident Love Child."  Ummm, Paul, we should talk about the "love child" thing...Just sayin'.

 

Sarge Paul also used a new randomization technique by dropping all the lottery tickets on the floor.  Interesting.  Not sure it worked.

 

Anybody else notice that PP Al Horton was in a very agreeable mood Monday?  He was giving the "thumbs up" sign to everyone!  No kidding around, Al, heal well.  You can't cast with that cast on.

This semester's class has their first concert in Broomfield, on Thursday, March 1st at 7 PM at the Broomfield High School Auditorium.  Tickets are available at upwithpeople.org/broomfield.  

 

For those interested in a more personal experience, Up with People needs host families for next Fall's class.  The class will need to be hosted in the Denver area beginning in Mid July through the end of August 2018.  Our own PP Craig Essex shared his very positive experience with being a host "many moons ago."  Host families provide a place to sleep, breakfast and dinners, transportation to a shuttle stop and a "safe and open environment to share cultures."  Benefits to host families include a unique cultural experience, new friends around the globe, role models for your children, a break in your daily routine, and joining the Up with People family.  If you wish to be a host family contact Cloe at cbernier@upwithpeople.org .
