Smoky Hill Rotarians and guests gathered Monday night to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the club's charter. The event was held at the Perfect Landing Restaurant located in the Centennial Airport. It was a great night of fellowship and good food organized by Club Services Director Nancy Jones (Yeah, Nancy!!)
On Wednesday, Smoky Hill Rotarians served food, friendship and compassion to families at Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for people dealing with a seriously ill child. The service event has become one of the most rewarding and significant club projects. No one who goes to this event can fail to be moved by the sheer magnitude of the emotional experience the parents and siblings of a sick kid are going through.
On Monday, Smoky Hill Rotary Club proudly elected its leadership team for the 2105-2016 Rotary year. Those elected to serve were:

The following is for those of you who get frustrated with the mistakes you find in this newsletter. These are a few headlines that demonstrate that sheer incompetence exists in things not written by me:
Last week's question:On Monday, Sergeant at Arms PP Gary Fletcher uttered the famous words, "Hey, let's be careful out there." This is a line used in numerous episodes of what TV show? (Bonus points if you can name the actor who originated the line and his character name.) Answer: Sgt. Phil Esterhaus, played by the late Michael Conrad.
This week's question: This week, President Paul lamented the lack of certified public accountants in the club. In the movie Midnight Run, Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas, an accountant for the Mob gets nabbed by bounty hunter Jack Walsh. To collect the $100,000 bounty on the Duke's head, Walsh needs to get him from New York to LA, but the Mafia and the FBI are both on their tails. Maybe "The Duke" is looking for a Rotary Club. Name the actors who played the Duke and Walsh. Answer next week.
