Our speaker failed to show, so the Denny and Jeff Show took center stage. This consisted of interviews with Smoky Hill Rotarians. I have to confess that after a heavy lunch, my attention was just not there. When I looked at my notes, they made no sense whatsoever. I called President Denny and asked him to fill in the substantial gaps in my memory of the event. The following is a transcript of the conversation:
PD-It was great! Sorry you kind of missed it. Terry Remigio was up first. Can you believe that even in high school he still didn’t even have a name!
DH-You mean he didn’t have a nickname, right.
PD-No. I’m pretty sure he said he didn’t have a name at all until he was somehow grabbed or kidnapped or something by an Italian Mafia grandmother from Youngstown, Ohio. Then Terry become the only Italian guy in all of Nebraska.
DH-I’ve known Terry a long time. That doesn’t sound quite right.
PD-Trust me, dude. It’s what he said. Then he said he met his wife when he took her to some dump basement frat house on their first date. Apparently, she got really pissed and broke Terry’s arm. Must have worked out, cause they got married, obviously.
DH-You and Jeff are pranking me on this, right?
PD-Nope. Swear to cow! Then you should have heard Al Horton! His name was Nightstick, or Nightgown, or something like that, until he got it changed cause everyone was feeling real sorry for him on account of him being a Cleveland Indian fan and all.
DH-OK. I’m not too sure about the Terry stuff, but that stuff on Al seems spot on.  I think I’ve got enough. Thanks.
