Big Day for PP Betsy Jansen!  Betsy treated us to a Royal Invocation, quoting American Episcopalian Bishop Michael Curry's sermon at the Royal Wedding about the power of love.  Your Editarian wasn't able to write fast enough, but did find these lines from Bishop Curry's sermon:

"There's power in love. There's power in love to help and heal when nothing else can.

There's power in love to lift up and liberate when nothing else will.

There's power in love to show us the way to live.

May we all try to show that power in love in our daily lives and as Rotarians!"

Later in the meeting, Betsy shared the Good News from the International Service Committee.  Our Global Grant is fully funded at over $125,000!  Betsy and PP/Sec'y Bev Edwards presented this Global Grant to Club 31, Denver Rotary, and were they impressed!  They could not believe our small club was able to successfully complete this HUGE undertaking!  They were so impressed they came up with an immediate $3000 to add to the success of this grant.  Congratulations to Smoky Hill and to the power of love shown by the International Committee!

PEv/PE Talee Crowe continued with the Good News theme of the day.  We don't just do great things in Romania!  We serve here at home, literally by serving Dinner Tuesday night at The Ronald McDonald House.  The dinner team should arrive at 4:15.  Can't wait to hear the stories from this month's dinner.

Talee also announced that our Installation Banquet will be Saturday night, 6 PM,  June 30th, at the Heritage Eagle Bend Club House.  Please plan to be there to honor this year's achievements, congratulate this year's board and honor next year's officers and directors!

Also upcoming, the ever popular Joint Board Meeting of the incoming and outgoing Boards and their significant others at the abode of our President Nancy on Friday night, June 15th.  Details to follow!

And even more BIG and GOOD NEWS!  SHRC will be the first host club for the brand new District Governor, Sandy Mortenson!  DG Mortenson will meet with the Directors/Chairs at 11:30 on July 9th, our first meeting of the Rotary Year.  That's starting the year off with a bang!

MORE GOOD NEWS from PP/PEN/Foundation Chair Hugh Radke!  We are meeting or exceeding all of our RI Foundation goals this year.  We have gone well past our Polio Plus Goal of $1000, likely donating $1300 to help finish the fight against polio.  As of this week, only 5 cases of Endemic Polio have occurred in the world!

We had a very strong goal of $12,000 donated to the General Fund of the RI Foundation.  At the last accounting, we had surpassed $11,300!  Let's get all the way to $13K!

In support of the RI Foundation PPX2 Dr. Jeff Kaes was awarded his Paul Harris Fellow +8 pin.

PP Clay Fell ably jumped into the Sergeant @ Arms role today, with only a couple of mild insults to our (golfing) absent PPX2/Sarge Paul Urtz!  Thanks, Clay!
