Today, Al introduced us to Dr. Matt Motchkavitz.  Matt's company is 'Excellence, Incorporated and features 9 one day training programs and events.  Today, Matt was with us to talk about 'How to Develop and Maintain an Attitude of Success.'  Matt crammed lots of information into a short time frame and provided us each with a work sheet to help develop an attitude of success if you're not already there.  Matt focused on these 3 areas:

1.  How We Think
2.  What is 'Success'
3.  Maintaining your Attitude

He also gave us something to think about with 'What would you create if there were no limits?

Matt sited a couple of books that changed his life.  'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill and 'Psycho-Cybernetics' by Dr. Maxwell Maltz.  We heard a message again this week - maybe there's a reason for this!  Matt reminded us that the conscious mind can only process 1 thought at a time.  He also talked about the subconscious mind and reminded us that values are instilled in us as children between the ages of 3 and 7.    Did you realize that your brain has more connections than there are stars in the universe?  The average person uses just 5-9% of their mental abilities and just 20% of their physical abilities.  (Smoky Hill Rotarians use more than the average!)

Want to keep dementia and Alzheimer's at bay?  Nutrition, exercise and ongoing learning are key for a long and healthy life.

Matt shared the Helen Hadswell story.  This woman visualized and believed she could win a house for her family.  She entered 33 contests and won all 33 contests - including a house.  She replaced negative self talk with positive self talk and replaced old visual images with what she wanted to achieve.

What would you create if there were no limits?

Thank you to Dr. Matt Motchkavitz and thank you Al for this introduction!
