HEARD AROUND THE TABLE

Rotary is important for the opportunities it provides to make a difference in people's lives around the world. I would not give that up for anything. Nevertheless, the chance to meet and talk with good friends every Monday is almost as important to me. I thought I would share a few of the tid bits of conversation around the table this last Monday:

*As reported in last week's newsletter, PDG Talee Crowe welcomed a new grand child. This is her ninth! Once again, congratulations to Talee and her daughter Emily.

*PP Mark Johnson's mother died last Saturday. She had been battling health issues for a number of years. Our sincere condolences to Mark, Kay and all of the Johnson family and friends.

*PP Lloyd Gottman and Heidrun just returned from a visit to their son who is recovering from surgery. Our prayers for his recovery are with them.

*PP Jeff Kaes told a story (it might even be true). He was asked how it felt to be so damned old. He said, "It sucks! A lot of things don't work. The things that work, hurt. And you pee on your shoes now and you don't even care." The lesson from this tale? If you find yourself in the restroom, with Jeff in the urinal next to you, you may want to open up some additional space between you.
