Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday to us, Happy Birthday Smoky Hill Rotarians!  Happy Birthday to us!

Our Club just celebrated our 37th birthday on January 25th at the Athenian Restaurant in Aurora.  After a great BIG Greek meal, we all gave a birthday toast in Greek lead by Nikko, the owner of the restaurant, with a shot of Ouzo!  A great time was had by all and many commented on the great conversations and friendships we all enjoyed that night.  Special 37th Birthday Thanks to Charter Member Terry Remigio and Linda for all the decorations and birthday poster on the door.  Great job!

Reflections on 37 Years:  As time marches on, things change.  Our membership has remained steady for the last few years but we are now starting to see things happen, some of which are beyond our control, that has dropped our membership to below 30.  We are now at 29 and will lose one more this March and maybe one more by the end of the Rotary Year.

So, in the next five months, we have to focus on new members.  The pipeline is starting to fill but we need more.  I encourage you to talk about Rotary and what we do that will attract people who want to give back.  If you are not comfortable introducing Rotary to a friend or acquaintance, give the name to me or Jeff Kaes and we will do the "heavy lifting."  Show this newsletter to your spouse or significant other to double your circle of contacts and possible new members.

When I get back from Romania at our meeting on February 10th, let's pack the place with guests that can be potential new members.

We have always risen to every challenge that Smoky Hill has faced.  There is no greater challenge than the need to grow the club.  Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you on the 10th!  President Hugh Radke.
