November is Rotary Foundation Month. As Cameron, Chair of Rotary Foundation for our Club always says: EREY, Every Rotarian, Every Year donates to the Rotary Foundation. By far the easiest way to do this is via My dot Rotary. Or just chat up Cameron to work it out.
Scott Tucker, History of Boulder Creek
11/9
New member Scott Tucker was our speaker this evening. He has become quite the expert in the history of Boulder Creek. He has collected a significant number of vintage photographs and is always taking advantage of the Santa Cruz area newspaper archives at MAH and UCSC. Beginning next January 2024, he will begin a series of historical talks at the SLV Museum. He already has a weekly 15 slot on historical topics every Thursday on KBCZ.
Cully Gruczelak, Damians Ladder
11/15
Cully is with the Damian's Ladder organization. The group works to support Seniors and the disabled that have lived in their homes in the Scotts/San Lorenzo Valley area for many years and may have limited incomes. They are often not able to afford small repairs and updates to their property. This could include anything from fixing a leaky faucet to installing an access ram. Volunteers at Damians Ladder are ready to fill the void for these basic needs.
Today was our annual dictionary distribution for SLV 4th graders. A group of clubmembers went to both SLV Elementary and Boulder Creek Elementary 4th grade classes with new dictionaries for each student.
