Meeting June 7, 2017

June 7^th

SLV Rotary Meeting

 

-Karen rang the bell to start the meeting.

-Cameron had two Thoughts for the Day.

-Brenda introduced our guests: Emily Holmes, Charlie Hammer and our speaker

  Peter Gelblum.

 

-Karen thanked everyone for their hard work at the Redwood Mountain Fair and a special thank you went to Ken for coordinating SLV Rotary for the ITC.  Karen presented Ken with an apple pie she had made.  Members were reminded to pay the $50 fine if you didn’t work the RMF and to get their money to Ken.  

 

-Karen announced she’s like to have the SLV Rotary perform a service project a month and for the club to be thinking of ideas.  Peter Gelblum had some suggestions: Park Hall in Ben Lomond has a workday on August 5^th and Mountain Community Theater always needs help with preparing for shows with painting of the sets, etc.

 

-Karen handed out perfect Attendance recognitions.

 

-Karen passed out the duty roster sign up sheet for members to fill in the blanks.

 

-A Board meeting will immediately follow the meeting today.  All are welcome.

 

-Reminder that August 21^st at 7:15AM is the new Teacher Breakfast.

 

-Reminder that next week there will not be a Rotary meeting.

 

-July 4^th Parade in Boulder Creek, SLV Rotary will be handling crowd control.  There will be a BBQ at Linda and Joe’s after the Parade.

 

-Ralph reminded us that the RYLA BBQ will be the Thursday during the RYLA week

 ( June 29^th ?) and encouraged members to attend.

 

-Mike presented Janet with a Paul Harris pin as a member of the Paul Harris society, committed to making a $1000 donation a year.

 

-Karen challenged us with quotes for Detective and then we had Happy and Sad Bucks.

 

Mike introduced Peter Gelblum who spoke about the ACLU.

-Mike won the Raffle for $5 but didn’t pull the Joker.

 

-Karen adjourned the meeting with our motto “Service Above Self”.
