Guest Speaker: Michele and Pete Gelbium, Mountain Community Theater

MCT was founded in 1982. This is a community theater and most of the people involved are not paid. It takes a lot of people to get a play on stage. For a time, MCT received royalties for the play, Miracle on 34th Street. After several years, MCT received a letter saying they did not have the proper authority to publish the play. Peter’s brother, an attorney in LA, helped negotiate an agreement with Fox and the royalties are now again coming to this great little theater. Michele described several of the jobs of volunteers. The theater produces four plays a year – a comedy, a drama, a holiday play and a musical-- and also does one New Comers production. There are over 400 season ticket holders and membership is $80, seniors and students are $65. People have really enjoyed the theater and have given rave reviews of different productions.

Detective: Carol did a fine job and raised plenty of money for the club!

Drawing: Mike’s ticket was drawn but no joker—so sad!

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 am
