This meeting included the red/blue badge autobiographical presentation from member Ginia Klemner.  She shared family photos along with details of her passion for jewelry-making, for selling at craft fairs and for elderberry syrup. She lost her home in the CZU fire and is spending a lot of time and energy now in rebuilding.

Our guest speaker tonight was Heather Schomaker, Director of Community Outreach for the Wheelchair Foundation.  The Wheelchair Foundation is a nonprofit organization leading an international effort to create awareness of the needs and abilities of people with physical disabilities, to promote the joy of giving, create global friendship, and to deliver a wheelchair to every child, teen and adult in the world who needs one, but cannot afford one. For these people, the Wheelchair Foundation delivers Hope, Mobility and Independence.

President Justin Acton reviewed upcoming events, meetings and other activities in the near future:
  • Sunday, September 26th: Valley Women’s Club Silver Linings online event.  Starts at 11am.  This is the VWC's 43th annual General Meeting.
  • Should the event end in time, there is the British Car Show in Boulder Creek from 10am-2pm, along HWY 9.
  • Wednesday, September 29th at 8:30am at SLV Elementary School, is our Rotary Club’s Dictionary Distribution.  Please meet Burgundi at the school at the picnic tables for an outdoor distribution.  She needs 3 helpers.  More details on BCE and Charter School Distribution to come.  For more info, kindly email Burgundi.
  • Thursday, September 30th, from 9am-2pm is Vax the Valley 2.0, taking place at Felton Community Hall.  All three vaccines will be available and volunteers are needed.  Please help get the word out!  Facebook event is here: https://fb.me/e/1fMdrSOrf  Please email Scott for more information.
  • Thursday, September 30th, from 5pm to 8pm.  Club Social.  Graciously hosted at Ed Titus’s home at 8580 Glen Arbor Road.  BYOB, snacks to share, and a lawn chair.  Parking is limited and responsible carpooling is always encouraged.  Please park snugly in Ed’s driveway.  Directions or questions, call Ed at 212-0533.
  • Saturday, October 2nd, from 9am-11am is the Felton Discovery Park Cleanup, at Felton Library.  Please bring clippers, broom, shovel and weeding tools to help the Friends of Felton Library spruce the place up.
