This meeting we had the red/blue badge autobiographical presentation from Andrew Lucia who recently transferred to this club from Santa Clara.

New members Jeanie and Terry Howard were introduced and inducted into Rotary today.
 
And the speaker today was Cecelia Babkirk who is an English teacher with the Peace Corps.  She was in Ethiopia when Covid-91 struck and was evacuated.  She is currently planning her return.  Cecelia has been a Rotarian since 1994.

Today co-president Justin had a consolidated list of upcoming service activities.  He is looking for volunteers to staff these:
  • River/Road Cleanup
  • Discovery Park Yard Work
  • MPF Lobster Feed Fundraiser
  • Shred Fest
  • Halloween Town Trick or Treat Traffic Control
 
Other announcements:
  • Justin also announced that the Community Tool Shed is now open only Saturdays now due to lack of adequate volunteers to staff it, so guess what?  Club members are asked to signup for volunteering at the Tool Shed.
  • Judi updated the club on the total DDF given to the Oakland club's Guatemala  project
  • Cameron is coordinating the club's donations to the Rotary Foundation
  • There will be no meeting September 30, but rather a Club Social Assembly at Quail Hollow Park at 5pm
  • District 5170 Avenues of Service this year will be at the Alameda County Fairgrounds and online September 30 & October 2
