Assembly:
  • President Karen led a discussion of the hurricanes in the southeast.
  • Mike gave an update of BECA and his trip to Baja. A new player has become involved and he wants the tribes in the US to sponsor the tribes in Baja so there is some hope this may continue. Mike, with club support, said now is not the time to decide how to use DDF.
  • Laurie said the 4th grade teachers like the dictionaries and are happy to have Rotary continue this project. Coloring books would be less important. The cost of each book was $5 and while it looks like an interesting project, a member suggested that we do not purchase the books. There was no voiced support of the project.
  • Julie reported that we are still working on the community training for AEDs and first aid. John Laurent will be the presenter.
  • Ralph presented the club with a letter of support for Friends of the Library. The Board approved signing the letter last week. There was some discussion of hands-on work we could do at the new library site.
  • We will hold over alternative memberships and the Governor’s Board meeting for our next assembly.

Detective: My! That Franziska is a tough detective!!

Drawing: Did you call 215? It’s Joe!!! Can he find that joker or is he attracted to another card? Sadly, he finds the 2 of spades! Better luck next week.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 am
