Our speaker this evening was new member Chris Schiermeyer, the new superintendent of SLV Schools. He gave a concise "state of the district" presentation along with his major goals for his tenure as superintendent. He stated a theme for the coming school year as "Do the Right Thing". The district now has about 2400 students with 450 at Boulder Creek Elementary and 550 at SLV Elementary. Also, the district is actively hiring now with several key positions still needing to be filled.
