TED talks are worldwide presentations that went on-line in 2006. There is one main conference in Vancouver, Canada. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. Michele’s event had 500 attendees last year and all of the sections were focused on agriculture. Their speakers presented talks about “ag” rights and issues. This year’s event will have 1200 attendees. Michele travels all over the world representing TEDx Salinas. She was 18 when she started the local conference. Her next conference will be in the summer of 2018. Tickets are $15 for students and $50 for general admission. The venue is the Sherwood Hall in Salinas.
