Guest Speaker: Norm Crandell, Felton Chiropractor, Cub Scout Master, and Volunteer Fireman
Norm and his wife know if is important to give back and help others and have tried to instill this in their children. Six years ago, Norm’s 6 year-old son made bracelets after the Tsunami in Japan and donated $450 to the Red Cross. This year, the family decided to visit two orphanages in Baja. The family is driving to Door of Faith Orphanage in Baja California, Mexico. The organizational goal is to get 100 kids to school everyday. The staff is made up of Mexicans and American volunteers. The work at the orphanage includes: food and toiletry give away, construction of homes, breakfast club, medical and health services, and counseling. Norm is looking for people to donate new chrome books that they can take down there. For more information contact then at DJ@dofo.org

The second visit is to Open Arms.  Four out of five kids living in orphanages in Mexico have at least one parent living, but because they are living in poverty, they cannot keep their children with them. This organization provides no-cost day care and “whole health and heart” services. You can sponsor a child for $25 a day or help with their construction projects. For more information contact them at info@openarmsmexico.org

Detective: Judy (the birthday girl) hit us up for forgetting our badges!

Drawing: Lucky Mr. Hammer had his name drawn, but alas, no joker!

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 am
