Today's speaker was Dawn Roh. Dawn is President and co-founder of High Council Foundation, a local Santa Cruz non-profit organization established on February 20, 2020. High Council Foundation was established to enrich our community through collaboration and collective acts of kindness. Currently she is organizing the construction of the Community Tool Shed, a lending library of new tools free of charge to the many families rebuilding their homes and rebuilding their lives following the devastating CZU Complex Fire. Over 30 local companies and organizations are working together to build the Community Tool Shed located at the Bear Creek Community Center in Boulder Creek.
The construction of the Tool Shed is nearing completion and they expect a Grand Opening at the end of June. Ways to support the work include direct donation to the High Council Foundation or buying a new construction tool at Scarborough Hardware, tagging it and placing in the designated barrel.
