He came back to work in law enforcement in Santa Cruz County because of the family atmosphere. During his 10 years in the department, he has patrolled all areas of SCC and has held numerous positions.

The department is analyzing their results and using the data to help improve their effectiveness. Crime is down in the Valley and alcohol related arrests are up. They have started a child safety program and they present to 2nd grade classes in the schools. School lock-down procedures and community trainings are also being held.

Problem areas in SLV – covered bridge with encampments under the bridge; serial drunks and public intoxication and transients in downtown BC and drinking in public. Brian asked that we talk to our neighbors, stay involved in our community and call when there are problems they haven’t been resolved. The department would like to take care of issues early on and they appreciate the community’s help.
