Minutes of Rotary Club of SLV

Members in attendance: Ken, Judy, Joe, Don, Janet, Julie, Linda, Mary, Joe, Cameron, Mike, Charlie, Karen, Don, Ralph, Carol, Scott W, Bob, Jessica, Ed, and Sue. Guests: Cindy Sekkel, Michael from Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz – Sid, Ian, and Wes.
President Karen opened the meeting with the flag salute, introductions and the Thought for the Day.
Announcements: District Training April 14 8-2 West Valley College; Wine to Water Apr 14 Farm to Table Dinner to support polio plus: June 9 Lobster Feed in Watsonville; May 18 Rotary Roundup – live band, western theme hosted by Santa Cruz Rotary; Lacy J Dalton fundraiser; May 12 a workday at Quail Hollow Ranch; June 2 and 3 is the District Conference; BC Fire Crab Feed is Friday: SLV Baseball is putting on their Calamari Feed on Saturday at the Felton Firehouse.
SLV Rotary is sending a second student to RYLA. Karen said we would need to raise $650 – several Rotarians started pledging and a minute later we had the $650! Thank you for your generosity and your interest in supporting student leadership.

- Gift certificate for Dillan who helped with the flooring project at the Homeless Center
- Joe and Linda shared a story from their trip
Detective: Sue really challenged us with a fantastic new game! The Santa Cruz Rotarians liked it so much, he (Wes, the president bought it for $600!!!!) took it back to his club.
Drawing: Karen’s lucky ticket was drawn but she liked the 3 of spades.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 a.m.
