Today's speaker was Brenda Holmes, Executive Director of the Mountain Parks Foundation. Founded in 1973, Mountain Parks Foundation invests in supporting ongoing educational experiences and programs such as field trips for school children, beautiful and informative park signage, naturalist-guided backpacking trips, native plant gardens and interpreter-led programs. Brenda's comments mainly focused on the damage to Big Basin State park by the "CZU complex" of August 2020. 97% of the Park was impacted by the fire and the historic visitors' core of the park is leveled and it will be years before it can resume accepting visitors.
