This morning's speakers were Jacob Martinez and Tara Thomas from the Digital NEST. The NEST was founded by Jacob in 2014 to foster high-demand technology skills in youth and to provide mentoring and hands-on experiences so they can secure well-paying jobs. He is the current CEO. Tara Thomas is currently the Digital NEST Grants Manager. She handles all corporate, governmental and regional foundation grants. Tara received their Ph.D. and M.A. in English and Latin Literature from UC Santa Cruz and their B.A. in English Education and Spanish from Southern Oregon University.
