SLV Rotary meeting notes
11-8-17
-Karen rang the bell to start the meeting.
-Don led us in the Pledge
-Thought for the day by Karen, but sent to her by Sue who couldn’t attend this week
-Ron Sekkel was our guest today.
Announcements:
-Karen thanked everyone who helped with the dictionary delivery last week.
-Reminder: SLV Rotary will be dark: Nov. 22, Dec. 20 and Dec. 27
-SLV Speech contest Feb. 14 Area Speech contest March 6
-AED training Nov. 14 at 4:30 SLE Cafeteria November 16 at 4:30 BCE
-Ron Sekkel invited us for an interesting meeting November 20 at the SV Rotary meeting. The speaker will be talking about Japanese internment camps
SV Rotary meets at Bruno’s on Mondays at 12.
-Detective-Carol challenged us with crazy laws
-Happy Bucks
-Janet presented a check for $240 to SLV Rotary from BC Rec & Park Dept for the volunteer work at the Harvest Festival.
-Mike had a Foundation minute
-Ken spoke about how the club spends its money with handouts explaining the division of funds into the Avenues of Service.
-Ron Sekkel talked about the Rotacare program.
