Today's speakers were Fred and Roberta McPherson. They presented their new video on the Turkey Foot confluence of the San Lorenzo River, Bear Creek and Boulder Creek. Fred also met later in the day with the Henry Cowell docents delivering a lecture on that topic.
I am sad to report that Fred died Thursday morning in his home. He had been so filled with passion and joy and concern during the recent Water Board Election, and when sharing their new video with our club on Wednesday, and remaining connected with people in every way.... friend, educator, mentor, father, grandfather. He loved this Valley and worked hard to protect and preserve it. He was an amazing photographer and videographer. He and Roberta produced some wonderful videos about our watershed. I will try to keep the club informed about plans regarding honoring him. Roberta has loving family and dear friends supporting her and is doing OK for now. Look around you and share your love and work for peace...Fred would like that.
