Assembly: Karen opened with announcements and we all missed Janet!!

 

President Karen opened the meeting with the flag salute, introductions and Thought for the Day.

 

Announcements: Oct. 15 Burrito Bash at the County Fair Grounds; Oct .22 Avenues of Services—let Karen know if you are attending; Breakfast bills were sent out by email; Governor’s visit is Oct. 26; Dec. 10 Christmas Shop with SLV Kids; Dec. 16 Christmas Party at the Joe and Linda’s; Oct 21 MCR’s annual event at the MCR building — 6:00pm silent auction and hors devours;

 

Mike shared a film on the Rotary Foundation. Worldwide efforts have donated over $3B in 100 years —and the funds are used to change the world. The global Polio Initiative has seen a 99% reduction of the disease.

 

Detective: Benda stumped us with IQ questions about famous people including: Truman, Jefferson, Reagan, Dickens, and Elizabeth I.

 

The club put labels into dictionaries for the Valley 4^th graders.

 

Drawing: Judy’s number was drawn and she drew the Jack of hearts!

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:16 am.
