President Linda, Ken, Judy, Joe, Janet, Julie, Karen, Mary, Cameron, Mike, Ralph, Carol, Bob, Scott D, Ed, Fransizka, Cindy, Laurie, Judi.  Guests: President Bill from SV, Mark, Eric and his family – Cathy, Bob, Nami
 
President Linda opened the meeting with Rotary’s Four Way Test, introductions, and the Thought for the Day.

Assembly:
  • Thank you for donating over $1400 to the Paradise Fire victims. This was our club’s largest holiday donation!
  1. Lacy J Dalton – folders from Bill Holl
    • No host food trucks
    • 50/50 Raffle
    • Lacy comes on at 2:00 pm and will do 2 sets
    • Sponsorship form and donation included- different levels of sponsors get tickets
    • Each member is responsible for purchasing or selling 4 tickets @ $45 each
    • Screen time for sponsors – Scott has volunteered to do this
 
  1. Induction of Eric Brown. Eric is the president of the Bob Cat Club at SLE, active in the Cub Scouts, works for Apple, and has been a Valley resident for 23 years. Eric’s grandfather was a Rotarian. Welcome, Eric. This morning, you are the newest Rotarian in the world!
 
  1. Speech contest in the SLVHS Multiuse Room on Feb 13. Arrive at 8:15 am. Coffee and snacks will be available. Area Speech contest is Mar 6 – also hosted at SLVHS
 
  1. Red Cross training January 20 - it has a pretty short turn around. We are asking them for future training dates.
 
  1. Grey Bears delivery – Friday at 9:00 at Liberty Bank
 
  1. Valley Churches sorting food – Jan 19. Signup at our meeting.
 
  1. BCBA – thank you dinner for volunteers, Mon Jan 28 at BC Pizza at 6:00. This will serve as our Jan social
 
  1. Alternate Rotary meetings – 2nd and 4th Thursday 6:30 – 7:30 at Scopazzi’s. The first meeting will be on Feb 28. This is a pilot program and will be reevaluated at the end of June. A member asked that we
     
The assembly is an open forum so if you have ideas or comments, we encourage you to voice them.
