Our club membership chairman, Mike, has received a communication from District Membership chair Hung Wei about this initiative for membership retention. Mike will say more tonight.
May is Member Retention Month. Our District is kicking off a Club Phone-A-Thon Fellowship Drive in the month of May – we encourage each Club President to organize a reach out to every member in your Club, with a phone chain, just a courtesy call and be in a listening mode, especially to members who are not attending Club ZOOM meetings or have not participated in any Club online activities during this unusual and challenging Shelter in Place situation. Rotary has always supported people in need in our community – now is the time that we extend a supporting hand to our fellow Rotarians. Shelter in Place can be a lonely and uncertain time for many – a warm “hello” and “how are you doing” can mean a lot to your fellow Rotarians. Attached please find a Phone-A-Thon poster for you to post on your Club website or via any online communication channels. You can customize your Phone-A-Thon to include a fun ice breaker, a phone tree game, a collation of favorite pastimes at home, or any topic of your choice. Your Area AG can lead a brainstorming discussion on how to organize a fun and effective Club Phone-A-Thon. A personal contact by a friendly and motivated fellow Rotarian will contribute positively to Member Retention.
