12:45    The featured speaker today was Mary Bannister, General Manager, Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency.  Mary delivered a very informative Power-Point presentation on the current situation and problems faced by the Pajaro Valley district especially the salt water intrusion due to over pumping in the PV aquifer.  This regional issue is colliding with individual property owners who currently have the right to pump as much as they like within their property boundaries – a regional approach clearly has to be taken.  Changes are coming statewide.  The Pajaro Valley 2014 Basin Management Plan has resulted in 12,000 acre-feet per year of enhanced water availability.  She also brought statistics about bottled water and the extraordinary waste they entail.

1:20 Closing Announcements:
  • The group decided to fine Mike and Janet for being at the A’s game today

1:30 Ken Adjourned the meeting
