Meeting Minutes
2-24-2016
-Mike rang the bell at 7:30 AM
-Steve led the Pledge and 4 Way Test
-Don had the Thought for the Day
-Ken introduced our visiting Rotarians and many guests and sold extra raffle tickets.
-Charlie led us in an anniversary song for Rotary’s 111th year.
-Mike made announcements:
- Joe told about the RYLA interviews and that 3 students were chosen
- Linda spoke about the MCR Phone-a-Thon
- Mike spoke about the Area Speech Contest on Thursday
- Roseanna of the SV Club spoke about the SV Rotary Trivia Contest on Saturday.
- Mike Harrison of the Santa Cruz Rotary Club spoke about the upcoming Santa Cruz Warriors Rotary Night on Sunday, March 13th at 6 PM. Charlie will be the lead for our club. $25 for a ticket and T-shirt.
- Next week speaker is the Wilderness Skills Institute
- Board meeting after next week’s meeting
-Happy Bucks
-Mike introduced our speaker from the Scotts Valley Club, Zeda Dowell.
Zeda was born a Muslim but converted to Christianity as an adult. She gave her opinions on Islam.
-Steve won $5 for winning the raffle, but didn’t pick the joker.
-Mike ended the meeting with our motto of Service Above Self.
