Club Assembly
December 9th, 2015
 
-Mike rang the bell at 7:35AM
-Laurie led us in the Pledge and 4 Way Test
-Joe had the Thought for the Day
-Carol introduced Bill as our guest for the last time before he becomes a member.
-Charlie led us in a Birthday song for Linda.
 
-Ken spoke about Club elections for next year and handed out ballots.
 
-Mike handed out the Perfect Attendance Awards for November. 
 
-Mike asked all members to attend next week when the DG will visit our club.
 
-Mike thanked those who attended the BCBA Mixer last Wednesday. 
 
-Mike reported that the District Grant (DDF) was approved and the check to
  Comunidad will be presented on January 6th.
 
-Sock it to the President-we all threw socks at Mike and there were 2 shopping bags
 full of socks to be donated to Mountain Community Resources.
 
-Cameron posed for pictures in his “very festive” ugly Christmas suit.  Cameron told
 us he was determined to win his company’s ugly Christmas costume contest this
 year.  We all had no doubt he would win.
 
 
Cameron Haste emphasizes Test #3
 
-Detective – Heather quizzed and educated us in Muslim history in the US and it was
  very interesting.
 
-Linda spoke about the December 16th Holiday Party she and Joe will be hosting at 
 their house starting at 6PM.  Linda passed around a signup sheet for the number of
 people attending and to sign up for side, salad or dessert.
 
-Mike gave a report on the Board meeting last week.
  • The board approved 2 potential members, Bill Jurgens and Brenda Holmes
  • Vocation Appreciation Awards will continue on March 16th and June 1st
  • The defibrillator in the schools program idea will be pursued by attempting to receive a grant from the Community Foundation.
  • Karen will obtain more information on Adopt a Poll as a fundraiser for the club.
  • Laurie gave an update on the Speech Contest.  She received a few names of students who may be interested in participating.
  • Bill spoke about the CERT program.  (Community Emergency Response Team).  He is awaiting information about classes and about how to involve our Rotary club.
  • Janet spoke about the Children’s Holiday Shop on December 12th.  Members volunteered to bring various items.  Volunteers will be meeting at K-Mart on Saturday morning at 9:45AM.
  • Mike asked members to please bring a prospective member to a meeting.
  • Mike discussed the possibility of the club finding a signature event or if we felt we already have enough projects.
  • Don reminded the club about the Fundraiser at our Christmas Party for Carmen.  It was mentioned that 2 banks may match funds for Carmen.
  • Ken reported he had counted the ballots and the officers for next year will be:

  • Bill won the raffle but didn’t pull the Joker.
  • Mike rang the bell and ended the meeting with our motto Service Above Self.
