  • Ken called the meeting to order.  Charlie led the Pledge of Allegiance, Janet stated the thought of the day, Joe introduced our guests for today: Priscilla Weiss, Steve Lanctot and three from CampCampbell: Joanna Vance, Cecily Morales, Juan Marines.

  • We presented Thomas Wynn his Blue membership Badge, congratulations!
  • Janet and Linda have set Wednesday 11/5, 6pm for the Interact Pot Luck at Linda’s house in Ben Lomond.
7:40am            Detective Report & Happy Bucks
  • Linda detective report today tested our knowledge of the country of Nigeria, the home of our guest speaker today.

  • Our speaker today is Seun Oguntoya, Rotarian from Nigeria.  His club is Rotary Club of Ilorin.  He presented on the benefits that Rotary Foundation is able to spread around the world and how important it is to contribute to the Foundation.  On a continent-by-continent basis, Africa is the largest recipient of Foundation funds; Seun cited surgical teams providing needed procedures in his country, water supply improvement projects, donation of hi-tech medical equipment to hospitals and clinics as examples.  After the meeting Seun’s host Joe Griffin and I went to visit bookstores in Santa Cruz and then to the Watsonville club where he presented as well at their lunch club, here he is with President Theo Wierdsma.
