- Area 7 Presidents’ Meeting, 1/9/2015 – Ken
- The DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose will be replaced by Embassy Suites in Milpitas after the District Conference as the “official” District 5170 hotel for most functions
- The District 5170 Conference is set for April 17 – 19, register by February 1. The Theme this year “Close Encounters of the Rotary Kind…Area 5170”. There is tennis tournament and golf tournament, hospitality suites open after dinner. Speakers include Ruby Bridges, Michael Pritchard and Richard D King. Saturday entertainment is “Cirque Encounters of the Rotary Kind”.
- RYLA is full, now with a waiting list. Payment is due by February 28.
- Another Warriors Night is set for March 20.

- Preview next week’s visit from DG Ed Jellen
- We went over the possible topics for our Board meeting with Ed Jellen next week and we’re all prepared to present our major areas of responsibility. For the regular meeting, Ed will preside and update us on the district, Heather will show and tell our Presidents Project, Laurie will describe how those white boards are used! Ed will recognize Foundation donors and Gil Gunn, one of our club founders.
- Can we solve our meeting venue problems?
- Charlie is looking into being able to use a room below the Birch Dining room when we are not able to use Birch.
- Possible speakers for 2015, I have 3 identified.
- I forgot to mention this in the meeting. I’ve sent e-mail to the members responsible for March, April, May and June about Ron Sekkel, Amanda Robinson and “Your Future is Our Business” possibilities.
