International Rescue Committee

As the war in Ukraine intensifies, the number of displaced citizens increases, overloading worldwide international refugee settlement organizations in their efforts to locate temporary homes for refugee families.   

The WCS Committee will present Ms. Elgiva Wood, of International Rescue Committee, who will describe what we can do to help alleviate this crisis.   Our committee is getting organized to qualify Morgan Hill Rotary to host a Ukrainian refugee family here in our community, and Elgiva will set out the parameters for doing our part to provide this badly needed service.   

Ukrainian immigrants to the US, Michael Pekker and Kira Volynskaya will describe to us what they are currently hearing from families and friends in Ukraine.
